03/03 : Project SUPPORT van start (persbericht)
Afgelopen woensdag 3 maart is het officiele startschot gegeven voor SUPPORT, een innovatieproject met als doel het versterken van logistieke netwerken rondom mainport Rotterdam met slimme ICT. Lees hierover in onderstaand persbericht:"Onderzoeksbedrijf en penvoerder Almende geeft op woensdag 3 maart het officiële startschot voor het logistiek innovatieproject SUPPORT. Doel van SUPPORT is het verbeteren van de coördinatie en afstemming tussen de talloze logistieke partijen in en rondom mainport Rotterdam. Slimme inzet van hedendaagse ICT moet ervoor zorgen dat verstoringen in logistieke processen sneller ondervangen en gecommuniceerd worden. SUPPORT wordt uitgevoerd door Almende, kennisinstellingen TU Delft en Centrum voor Wiskunde & Informatica, ICT bedrijf DEAL Services en logistieke partijen APM Terminals, De Rijke Trucking, Hebra Containervervoer en Peeman Transport. SUPPORT is een ‘Pieken in de Delta’ project en wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt het Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Provincie Zuid-Holland."

Support project kicks off on Friday 1st January 2010. We welcome you to the kick-off meeting on Wednesday 3rd March 2010, at 14.00 at Wereldmuseum, Rotterdam.The programme of the kick-off meeting is as follows:

SUPPORT Project
SUPPORT - Supporting and Strengthening of Logistics Networks in and around the Rotterdam Port, is a three-year (Jan 2010 - Dec 2012) research project coordinated by Almende. In SUPPORT, we provide a concrete, real life setting, proof of concept on continuous planning in the logistics network. The proposed solution would be scalable to (much of) the logistics network and would lead to substantial improvements.
Members
The project members within SUPPORT bring all the necessary expertise together throughout the knowledge chain: from fundamental research (TU Delft, CWI) and applied research (Almende) to technological innovators (DEAL Services) and domain partners (APM Terminals, De Rijke, Peeman, Hebra).
